Disease outbreak
Federal researchers from the National Centres for Disease Control told microbiologists at a conference that fast food restaurants and even home-cooking are believed to be linked to two outbreaks of haemorrhagic colitis. The disease is not fatal, Dr Mitchell Cohen said, but the symptoms, bloody diarrhoea and severe stomach pains, last about a week and are "not very pleasant." — Miami.
