S.W.A.P.O. man’s visit
Sir—With reference to A. Brunt's letter (October 5) I note that the Mayor has answered only question number four. I think that we, as citizens of Christchurch, are entitled to a proper answer from our elected representatives. They represent us, and not themselves. Also, I would like to know how. the Mayor and council can, on the one hand, receive the representative of what is generally regarded as a communist-backed terrorist organisation, and, on the other hand, go to the other extreme by sending an insulting telegram to a visiting sports team whose only object is to play rugby football—Yours, etc., L. R. WILKINSON. October 8, 1982.
