PA Wellington Randwick (Wellington) triumphed. 8-5 over Glenora (Auckland) after an epic 104minule struggle in their Wrangler Cup rugby league clash in Wellington yesterday. At the end of the regulation 80 minutes, the score was tied at 55- with the points-saver for Glenora coming 30 seconds from time when Mike Te Hira scored in the corner. Randwick had led throughout.. It then took two further spells of five minutes each way but the
scores were still level then began the third period of extra play, when the first team to score would be declared the winner. Lance Pupuke broke the deadlock when he scored, with both Glenora centres tackling him. Randwick now plays Taniwharau (Waikato) next Saturday in Huntly. As expected. Petone blitzed Takahiwai (Northland). 42-7. in the earlier cup game, after leading. 23-2. at half-time. Hapi Puketapu scored two of the ten tries and kicked six conversions.'
