Wall Street uncertain
The Wall Street stock market declined on the last two davs of the week, although on’ balance closing prices on Friday were marginally higher than the previous Friday. The Dow Jones index of industrial shares closed at 916.95. for a gain of 10:12 points on the week. Analysts noted that the market's late-summer rally faded shortly after openmarket interest rates stopped falling and began to move up a bit again. The growth of the US money supply has accelerated lately, prompting doubts among traders about the Federal Reserves willingness to relax its credit policies further. Analysts said these concerns encouraged traders to cash in on some of the dramatic gains the market recorded in August and the first few days of September.
