PA Blenheim Marlborough maintained a slim chance of taking the South Island second division rugby championship when it beat South Canterbury. 20-3. at Lansdown Park. Blenheim, on Saturday. Playing with a strong wind in the first spell. Marlborough took a 10-0 lead by half-time, then closed out the opposition with forward strength and back-line efficiency in the second spell. The outcome of the championship now depends on the South Canterbury-Southland
match at Ttmaru on Saturday. Southland will need only a draw to take the title, but if South Canterbury wins, four teams will be lied at the top. with Marlborough taking the championship on a tiebreaker. having won its matches over the other three, which include.
