Board to sell fridges to Oman

PA Wellington The Dairy Board plans to ship abroad this year 580.000 tonnes of milk products and 250 refrigerators. The refrigerators are for use in Oman where a lack of refrigerator space in retail stores is hampering sales of New Zealand dairy products. The Dairy Information Service says the board is shipping the freezer units for leasing to Omani store owners under agreement that they market New Zealand butter exclusively. Il says Omanis are the biggest butter eaters in theMiddle East and the Dairy Board intended to consolidate its position as the leading butter brand seller in the country.
