Depositions adjourned

PA Auckland The taking of depositions against 26 former Air New Zealand staff facing charges of theft, due to begin yesterday, has been adjourned until tomorrow. Counsel for a number of the accused, Mr Roger Maclaren, said that when Air New Zealand officials came to identify the goods many were “incapable of strict identification."

The charges needed to be relaid setting forth lesser amounts and an adjournment to tomorrow was sought to proceed on new charges. Mr Maclaren said yesterday's date for a hearing was now filled up with other matters. " Mr C. Levin and Mrs A. V. Fitzpatrick, Justices of the Peace, adjourned the hearing until September 9, with bail continued.
