Overstaying charges withdrawn
PA Wellington Seventy-two Samoans had overstaying charges against ■ them withdrawn in the Dis,trici Court at Wellington yesterday. The Crown Prosecutor. Mr Justin Smith, said that all charges were withdrawn by leave following the decision of the Privy Council on Samoan citizenship. Another 11 charges will be dealt with later. Counsel, Mr Noa Nawalowalo, sought costs. Judge N. C. Jaine refused the application. A similar total of over-
staying charges, with defendants 1 represented by the lawyer who took the original Falema’i Lesa case to the Privy Council. Mr George Rosenberg, are to be heard tomorrow.
