County cricket
The English county cricket championship is set for a thrilling finish. with Middlesex and Leicestershire almost neck and neck. In the last completed round. Leicestershire beat Glamorgan by an innings, taking 24 points from the match, and reducing its deficit to Middlesex to two. Middlesex has won the title seven times, most recently in 1980.
Leicestershire's success in 1975 was its only one. Today. Middlesex plays Hampshire at ' Uxbridge, while Leicestershire meets Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge. In the final round, which starts on Saturday, Middlesex meets Worcestershire at Worcester, and Leicestershire plays Kent at Canterbury.
