Bowls title to Arawa couple
The Canterbury indoor bowls husband and wife pairs, at the week-end, was won by Tom and Jean Malcolm (Arawa). In the final they beat Ken and Averil Gledhiil (Avonhead), 15-6. Scoring a three and a four on the first two ends, Malcolm was clearly in control throughout the match. -ri’ . Both semi-finals, were closely' contested. Keith Carter (Quinns Road) narrowly failed to run off Gledhill's single shot with his last bowl, leaving Gledhiil with a 4-3 win. ■ -i' Earl Chaney (Avonhead) went.;, down to Malcolm after the score had- been tied on the third and
