L.P.G.
Sir, — Assuming that Mr P. R. Burdon, member of Parliament for Fendalton, was accurately reported ("The Press," September 6), we strongly object to both his statements and attitude. We wish to inform Mr Burdon and any members of the Labour Party who. Mr Burdon suggests, engage, in “petty party politics” that the opposition referred to is not entirely directed specifically against L.P.G. and its use in Canterbury but more against those who would unload and transport the fuel without proper concern for the safety of residents in Lyttelton. We would like to think that Mr Burdon would consider it inappropriate to treat the residents of Lyttelton like mushrooms. — Yours, etc. • S. G. YORKE, . C. P. SEDGWICK. September 6, 1982.
