Ferry sailing
Sir,—Many thanks for W. Campbell’s reply to my letter re the turn-round-of the ferry because of two small drums of paint found on board (August 28). However, he did not answer the main question. Why was it necessary to turn the ferry back because of the paint on board? Why were not the two drums thrown overboard and the consignor paid for their loss which would be something well under $lOO. As it was, the turn-round cost the taxpayer several thousand dollars and a lot of inconvenience to the public. I think it might be time for the Minister to throw a ferret into the rabbits’ warren.—Yours, etc., F. BURGOYNE. August 28, 1982.
