Main road bridges near completion
Wellington reporter A number of big bridges in Canterbury and Westland are due to be completed soon, according to the National Roads Board. There are four on State highway 1 - Hapuku River bridge ($900,000). Greta and Cobbolds culvert ($495,000). Opihi bridge approaches ($214,000;. and Waikakahi Stream bridge replacement ($260,000). On the West Coast there are five - Docherty Creek bridge replacement ($229,413). Paringa River bridge ($715,000). Gates of Haast bridge ($221,394). Poplar Fan and Rough Creek bridges ($444,000). and Karamea River bridge ($490,000). In Nelson there are two - Wash River bridge ($511,000), and the Nelson City northern outlet ($801,000).
