Methadone programme
Sir,—As an ex-Nelsonian, I was sorry that Mr z Dale Hunter’s attack on cannabis was made to look ridiculous by Dr John Dobson’s opinions which followed. The red herrings of “tobacco” and “alcohol” have nothing to do with the dangers that Mr Hunter and I — and our many, many supporters in Nelson — want schoolchildren to avoid. If the Nelson coroner says that it is cannabis, grass, marijuana, which causes 99 out of 100 fights, accidents, divorces, and shabby deaths (at least in Nelson) then who would be in a better position to know? Let Dr Dobson stick to treating the physical decay of those.already crippled and .doomed by marijuana, and leave the mental health of schoolchildren to Mr Hunter and me.—Yours, etc!, ken mcallister.
