10 vessels due at Lyttelton
Lyttelton should again be fairly quiet this week, only 10 vessels being scheduled to arrive in port. Four ships are due in port this week-end. The Seaward Ace, on her maiden voyage, should arrive this morning. The 10,234-ton, 147 m vessel is carrying knocked down cars and steel from Japan. Other New Zealand ports at which she will call are Wellington. New Plymouth. Auckland, and Mount Manganui. Due tomorrow are the Maritime Carriers' Tasman vessel Waitaki. the regular Asian trader Kwangsi. and the 17.000-ton cellular container ship. Australia Star. Among the more interesting vessels due during the week are the Botany Triumph, which will discharge molasses, and the Taian, which will discharge pmmonia sulphate and bagged urea. Two coastal vessels are scheduled to call during the week. Coastal Shipping's Onehunga should arrive on Monday, and the Shipping Corporation's Coastal Trader is scheduled for her usual calls on Monday and Wednesday. The Union Company's Tasman carrier Union Hobart is due on Tuesday and Thursday. Because of the small number of vessels due, demand for port facilities and labour is expected to be moderate.
