New Social Credit party

PA Tauranga Social Credit supporters who feel their party has moved away from the theories on which it was founded have formed a new political movement in Tauranga. The organisers of. the movement, Messrs A. P. Cant and A. H. Greig, said that they had the support of more than 30 people but would not mount a wide-spread-membership drive until after Social Credit's annuaUconference at Hamilton in August. Mr Greig said he hoped that conference delegates would decide to return Social Credit to its original Major C. H. Douglas ideology. “If the conference does not return to Douglas’s views, we intend putting up candidates at the next election,” he said.
