N.Z.U.C. index at new low
The N.Z.U.C. industrial index fell to a new low for the year of 630.20 points on a moderately? active, weak New Zealand sharemarket yesterday. The index lost 5.53 points, putting its decline for the,* last two sessions at 11.70. The previous low was 630.71 set on'June 24. The main cause of the reaction was the rejection of the proposed N.Z. Forest Products bonus by the Fees and Distribution Appeal Authority. N.Z. Forest eased 3c to a new low for the year of 293 c. Other leading issues to incur sharp losses were Fisher and Paykel, Waitaki N.Z. Refrigerating.' and Winstone. Among the 11 rises were Alliance, EMCO (ex dividend) and National Insurance. . «
