Use of L.P.G
Sir,—The Minister of Energy, Mr Birch (“The Press," June 26) said that “unreasonable organised community opposition to the use of L.P.G. in Christchurch (and Auckland) could jeopardise development vital to New Zealand’s future?' The residents of Lyttelton do not object to the use of L.P.G. in the South Island. They object to the proposed pumping facility at the dangerous goods oil wharf, and the pipeline in the inner harbour. They request investigation of a safer site in the outer harbour, past a line between Battery Point and Ripa Island, away from the residential area. — Yours, etc., JEAN PRUST. June 26, 1982.
