Homeless toil disputed
International Red Cross officials have said that the number of people made homeless by Israel’s invasion of Lebanon may be only about half the figure of 600,000 first suggested. The earlier estimate was based on preliminary figures provided by the Lebanese Red Cross. The officials of the International Committee of the Red Cross said . many people who fled when Israel invaded south Lebanon 10 days ago had now returned home—Beirut.
