PA Napier The • market at the last Napier wool sale of the 198182 season yesterday was mainly firm, with longer shears inclined in buyers’ favour, according to the official report. • The offering of 25,900 bales consisted of mainly long second-shear, ■. a Small amount of full fleece, which tended to be .discoloured and cot ted, about 25 per cent short second-shear, and the balance oddments., ' ' The second-shear wool was generally of good colour, but with yields a little lower than the last Napier sale. ■ ■ The ’ adjusted weighted average sale price • was
259.43 c a kilogram, according to the Wool Board. Based on this, a Government supplementary payment of 23.4 per cent will apply to air wool sold at the sale and all wool sold privately from midnight last night to midnight on June 23. The market indicator was 249.
