National skating events
With the Canterbury speed skating championships now in recess, the New Zealand events will be the main attractions at Lake Ida this winter.
The national short-track and long-track championships will be held on the outdoor rink as will the New Zealand marathon.
The New Zealand figure skating championships will be held in Invercargill on September 2, 3 and 5.
Dates for the speed chain pionships at Lake Ida are:—
July 16 and 11: New Zealand short-track championships.
July 17 and 18: New Zealand long-track championships.
July 25: New Zealand marathon.
