Rally driver crashes
PA Auckland Although the start of the Motogard international car rally is still 10 days away, one car has already been damaged in preparations for the world championship event. The Frenchwoman Michele ‘Mouton, who- lies second in the world series and will drive an Audi Quattro over the lOOOkms
of special stages came off second best with a cattle truck. The Volkswagen Golf GTI she was using to make pace notes was extensively damaged in the front near the end of the Port Waikato — Waikaretu Valley stage. .Neither Miss Mouton nor her co-driver Fabrizia Pons were injured in the accident.
