Student work scheme
Sir,—lf a country wishes to cut its own throat, let it cut the throat of those seeking higher education. What use are the brains of New Zealand anyway? Not much if the present Government represents them. No more student employment schemes this year? With luck no more students next year. Think how much money that must save. Oh yes, education is free for all in Godzone. I forgot. — Yours, .etc., ROSALENE NEWMAN. President, Taranaki Federation of University Women. June 3, 1982.
