Open squash final today
Linwood will be represented by two club members, Craig Hibbert and Robbie Burnett, in the men’s final of its Gainsborough Garagesponsored open squash tournament this afternoon. Both players encountered some difficulties in their semi-final matches yesterday after looking likely to win in straight games. Hibbert, the top seed, dropped only two points in the first two games against John Christensen (Sumner), and eventually scraped home in the fifth. The third-seeded Burnett enjoyed tw’o match balls in the third game against the second seed, Lyn Sparks (Wigram), but he. too, was eventually taken the full distance. The top seed. Carolyn Oak-
ley (Christchurch Football), arid the third seed. Joan Terrell (Sumner), will meet in the women's open final today.
