Schools rugby cut
PA Auckland The planned “top eight" national secondary schools rugby tournament will be scaled down to a “top four” event this season. John Worthington, the secretary of the New Zealand Secondary Schools Rugby Council, said yesterday that problems arranging
the inaugural tournament had meant that a four-team, three-day contest would be staged this season, in August. The South Island schools under consideration are: Southland Boys’ High, Otago Boys’ High. St Kevin’s College, Waitaki Boys' High, Christchurch Boys’ High, St Bede's College.
