University of Otago. Applicants must hold a Degree in Medicine from an approved University, have been qualified for two years and have held Hospital appointments for at least one year. They must be licensed to practise in New Zealand. The appointment will be regarded as part of the appointee’s residential training with a view to specialising in psychiatry and obtaining a higher qualification in the speciality, and applicants desiring such training and experience will be given preference. Training opportunities fulfill the requirements for membership of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists, and include attachments at the various specialist services (therapeutic community, adult and. child outpatients, adolescent and adult inpatients, liaison, etc) and a six month attachment at Cherry Farm Hospital in the third year. Supervision in both individual and group psychotherapy is offered.
