The Falklands
Sir,—ln reply to the laughable letter of Heart Alan Chant (June 1), I am wondering where his ancestors came from and what right he feels he has to being a New Zealand citizen? Perhaps he would rather the Argentinians or some such attractive dictatorship had colonised New Zealand, in which case he would have no “rights” such as a free vote and in fact he might well be missing his head if he had written such a letter to the paper. As far as the Queen is concerned, does he. not realise she is apolitical (Britain being a democracy). Any question of homage is therefore completely irrelevant and one Can only surmise that he has chosen to vent his spleen over a subject on which his understanding is clearly minimal. — Yours, etc., DAVID R. DAVISON. ' June 2;' 1982.
