Licence suspension lifted pending review
.The Ellesmere Country Club will be open as usual during the next fortnight, in spite of a Licensing Control Commission decision to suspend its licence. A bid by the club to have the suspension lifted was successful in the High Court at Wellington yesterday. The club's manager, Mr Brian McDrury, said that it had applied for an order to allow its charter to continue until the commission’s decision was reviewed in the High Court. The ■ case was likely to be heard within two months, he said.
