Trip computer
The first New/Zealand-, assembled car to be marketed with an pn-board trip computer with digital display unit is the new Talbot Alpine SX from <Poriruabased Todd Motors, Ltd. It has a 1592 cc four-cylinder engine, fitted with a twinbarrel - Weber carburettor, electronic : ignition and thermostatically controlled electric cooling fan. The Talbot SX, a front-drive saloon
with five-speed manual gearbox, has power-assisted steering, electric windows and door-locking system, push-button radio and stereo cassette and ! alloy wheels. The trip computer tells the driver the time taken for the trip, total distance travelled, the amount of fuel consumed, average fuel consumption and average distance travelled. per hour.. Price of the Talbot Alpine SX is $18,750.
