Ties severed
Saudi Arabia has severed diplomatic and economic relations with Costa Rica in protest against its decision to move its embassy in Israel to Jerusalem, the official Saudi Press Agency has reported. It quoted a Foreign Ministry statement as stating that the Costa Rican decision ran contrary to. “international legitimacy." The kingdom earlier in the week broke off diplomatic ties with Zaire because of its decision to restore its ties with Israel—Jeddah.
