Microlight-pilot meeting
Canterbury micro-light pilots will meet tomorrowevening to form a Canterbury branch of the Microlight Aircraft Association of New Zealand. Organised by a New Brighton jeweller, Mr A. F. Boyd, the meeting will be held in the old Student Union building at the Arts Centre. Mr Boyd said h 8 was not sure how many microlight pilots would turn up at the
meeting. “There could be 50, there could be 200,” he said. He believed the main advantage of having an association would be the safety factor. “The club will have the manpower to ensure that pilots adhere to safety precautions," he said. Mr Boyd said the club would also be able to ensure quality in the areas of flying, machines and the conditions in which they were flown.
