3000 items for ski sale?
If last year's successful ski sale is anything to go by, there will be more than 3000 items of ski gear selling for at least $70,000 in the Riccarton racecourse members’ stand tomorrow. The ski sale has become an annual event at which people vie with one another for the best bargains in second-hand ski equipment: It is organised each year by members of the Canterbury Ski Association. This year, members of the Methven Ski Club are running the sale. An entry fee of $2 for adults and,soc for children is charged, as well as 15 per cent commission on dll items sold. All this money goes to the Ski Association and its organising club (a W f " w ’t
one each year). The money is then put back into ski-ing to train racers, ski patrollers, and build club facilities. Methven Ski Club members will be at the racecourse members' stand all day today (8 a.m. to 9 p.m.) so that people wanting to sell their ski gear at the sale can bring it in. and have it recorded and priced. Items accepted for sale include skis, boots, poles, ski clothing, snow chains, and ski racks. Club members- will help people decide on a fair price if they do not have any idea of the worth of their old gear. j . The sale itself will begin at 9 a.m.. tomorrow.
