Orion mercy flight
PA Auckland An R.N.Z.A.F. Orion flew a Niue Island woman to Auckland last evening for urgent medical treatment. The Orion arrived at Whenuapai just before 9 p.m., and the woman, Mrs Tunaga Funaki, aged 39, was transferred to the critical-
care unit of Auckland Hospital. Mrs Funaki is suffered from chest and abdominal complications after surgery in Niue last week. During the five-hour flight from Niue she was attended by a doctor and three assistants. Her condition was described last evening as “critical but stable.”
