PDL expands
PDL Holdings, Ltd, the Christchurch-based electrical equipment plastics
manufacturer, has moved into the North island by taking over Addax Plastic Holdings, Ltd, Auckland. Addax subsidiaries are:— © Rosebank Plastics, Ltd—a major manufacturer of injections and blown mouldings. © Capsule and Closure Sales, Ltd—which hold the Australian and New Zealand licence for child-proof closures used on dangerous liquids, and lift-up and pump type dispensing caps—also the only manufacturer of wine bottle closures with the associated metal and wire retainer. © Nu-Clear Printing, Ltdspecialising in screen printing on containers. © Kelite Industries, Ltdmanufacturer of tooling for the plastics industry. © Livermore Plastics, Ltdmanufacturer of injection and blow mouldings. The chairman of PDL (Sir Robertson Stewart) said it is intended that the 125 employees will continue working for the group, and plans for expansion in the Auckland area are under way. This is the first manufacturing unit of the PDL Group in the North Island and this acquisition will enable the movement of tooling between all companies involved in container manufacture within the group to be developed. The consideration is for cash and is subject to the approval of the Examiner of Commercial Practices.
