Talks for an award covering about 1000 Christchurch City Council labourers,' drivers, gardeners, cleaners, and storemen have been adjourned sine die. The workers will hold a stop-work meeting on Friday to hear a report from- their
union assessors on the talks and consider ■ what action to take' The talks broke down when the council negotiators refused to concede a union claim for the three days between Christmas and New Year to- be' classified as holidays in the award.
