Nuclear weapons
Sir.—Unlike Mr Gray and his band of “patriots,” I and a great number of other New Zealanders do not wish to become “bomb-bait” should armed aggression eventuate between the super-Powers. The presence of American warships in our waters makes this country a potential target for nuclear attack by America’s enemies. Surely a true patriot would take all measures possible to ensure that his or her country did not become a potential target for nuclear attack by not allowing American warships to ’enter that country’s waters.—Yours, etc., M. F. TURNER. April. 15, 1982.
