Mr W. V. Cowles, who has retired as the manager of the wine and spirit division of Ballins Industries, Ltd. He worked for his father in the soft drink industry before World War 11, and after war service came back to a partnership in W. J. Cowles and Sons, Ltd, which merged in Quill Morris Cowles in 1958. This company was taken over by Ballins in 1964, and Mr Cowles was later transferred to the hotels division and became manager of the Ballins wine and spirit section in 1976.
