Nuclear weapons

Sir,—Some of the views expressed, in writing to you about Russia and its allegedly evil intentions, spring from illinformed prejudice, and owe little to fact, reason or logic. But courtesy of your columns, limited debate can usually take place. This does seem impossible, however, with religious fantasies about Russia, and the world’s future — such as those detailed by E. R. Surgenor (March 27). Your correspondent is entitled to hold and propagate such views. Personally, I consider them ludicrous, primitive, and a relic of medieval superstition. — Yours, etc. M. T. MOORE. March 27, 1982.
