Action planned
PA Wellington Waterfront workers planned a campaign against the taxing of travel allowances, said the national president of the Harbour Board Workers’ Union, Mr Wallace Jocelyn, last evening;
Action would include refusing to work the hours attracting the tax, claiming refunds from employers, and requiring employers to provide free transport, he said. Union members had been told that part of their travel allowance would be taxed ■, from April 1, Mr Jocelyn | said.
