H ELLESMERE COUNTY COJNOL ELLESMERE COUNTY COUNCIL COMBINED DOG REGISTRATION AND HYDATID CONTROL FEES 1982/83 PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given pursuant to the Dog Registration Act, 1965, and Amendments thereto, and the Hydatids Act, 1968, and Amendments thereto, that the Ellesmere County Council has by resolution fixed the following COMBINED REGISTRATION AND HYDATID CONTROL FEES for the period April 1,1982, to March 31,1983. FEES PAYABLE Working Dogs Combined Registration/Hydatids Fee: $18.50 A working dog is to be one of the following categories: (a) Dogs kept by a farmer or drover for the purpose of herding or driving sheep or cattle. (b) One dog only kept by a commercial poultry keeper and kept soley for the purpose of protecting his poultry. (c) Dogs employed for "seeing eye” purposes by blind persons. (d) Dogs owned by security organisations and pest destruction. Other Dogs Combined Reglstration/Hydatids Fee: $21.50. Pursuant to Section 8(l)(e) of the Dog Registration Act an additional fee of $5.00 per dog will be payable on all registrations received after June 1, 1982. COLLARS Collars are available in four sizes and may be purchased at the County Office. Numbered plastic tags will be issued on payment of the combined fee, these tags must be attached to your dogs collar. If the tag is lost a replacement may be obtained at a cost of 50c. FAILING TO PRESENT DOG/S FOR DOSING A charge will be levied to cover expenses incurred with a minimum of $5.00 when a dog owner fails to comply with a final dosing notice, without sufficient reason, and is required to present his dog for dosing- at a later date. Any dog owner not able to comply with the notice must make alternative arrangements with the Hydatids Control Officer at least 24 hours before treatment. REGISTERABLE AGE The Dog Registration Act provides that NO PERSON SHALL KEEP ANY DOG OF A GREATER AGE THAN THREE MONTHS for a period of 14 days or more unless the dog is for the time being registered under the provisions of the Act. CHANGE OF OWNERSHIP The previous owner and the new owner shall each within 14 days notify the Council Office in writing of a Change of Ownership and residential address of the new owner. Changes of address also require notification in writing as above. Death or loss of a dog must also be notified. INFECTED DOGS In addition to the Hydatids Control Fee in respect of any dog, there shall be payable by the owner of the dog to the Authoority an additional fee of $2O if the dog has been diagnostically tested for Hydatids and the purged material from the dog has been found on examination to contain Hydatids. TRANSFER OF DOG Where a dog registered in one district is transferred to the district of another local authority the owner is required to notify the Council Office in each district as to the new address at which the dog is to be kept.
