Retreat missioner to visit
A retreat missioner, Father Mark Gibbard, from England, will be . in Christchurch from today until Saturday. Father Gibbard is a member of a monastic order, the Society of Saint John the Evangelist, which has four, retreat houses in England and one each in the United
States and Canada. He writes books and travels the world promoting retreats and prayer. _■ While in Christchurch he will stay at the Community of the Sacred Name in Barbadoes Street and will address a prayer group at the Christchurch Cathedral on Wednesday, March 10, at 11 a.m.
At noon a service will be celebrated followed by bible instruction and lunch, after which Father Gibbard will give another address. He will also give a talk for anyone interested at College House on Thursday, and will take a school of prayer at the Sister Evelenn Retreat on Saturday ’ before leaving for Timaru and Dunedin.
