Alliance Freezing record profit
PA Invercargill Despite a season plagued by industrial disputes involv-. ing long and costly stopSges, Alliance Freezing mpany (Southland), Ltd, emerged from last, year with a record profit of more than $4 million. The company achieved a profit of $4,091,006 compared with the 1980 tax-paid profit of $2,948,108. However, the company
paid no tax last year, instead receiving a $360,347 refund from the Inland Revenue Department. If it had not been for this, the profit would have looked less healthy. The 1981 profit before tax of $3,730,659 was actually less than the corresponding 1980 .profit of $4,160,532. However, in 1980 the company paid tax of $1,212,424, which cut the profit back.
