Rhema goes on air in capital
PA Wellington Wellington’s second priv'ate radio station, Radio Rhema, went on air yesterday. The Christian-based, noncommercial station went on air about 2.50 p.m. without a hitch, said the station’s branch manager, Mr David Marple. About 1000 people came to watch the opening, conducted
oy the Minister of Trade and Industry (Mr Templeton). Broadcasts are being relayed from Christchurch. The station is on air from 6 a.m. to midnight. Listeners can tune in on 1503 kHz. • Mr Marple said Radio Rhema was applying for a warrant to ; broadcast an originating station from Auckland, and it also hoped to broadcast temporarily from Dunedin later this year.
