Police name dead man

The police have named the young Canadian man who died when he fell over a bluff ■on Mount Travers, in the Nelson Lakes National Park on March 4. He was John Alexander Kusniak, aged 23, of Montreal. Mr Kusniak and a Swedish tramping companion, Mr W. Hjortfors, aged 21, had been making for the' Upper Travers Hut, at an altitude of about 1500 metres, when Mr Kusniak slipped and rolled about 30 metres down a steep bluff. Mr Hjortfors went for assistance, but Mr Kusniak was dead when help arrived.
