Yacht race near finish
NZPA-Reuter Rio de Janeiro The Australian yacht Buccaneer has maintained its lead in the final leg of the Xerox Syd-ney-Rio de Janeiro race, officials said. The organisers said the two leaders were expected to reach the end of their 15.490 km course sometime today. Last place in the three-boat field was held by the New Zealand yacht Ta'Aroa, which was short’ of generator fuel and had not checked in with Rio, the organisers said.
