Bank guard admits $1M theft

NZPA-Reuter San Francisco A former Brink’s guard, George Bosque, aged 26, accused of stealing SUSI.BS million from an armoured car at San Francisco Airport, has pleaded guilty in a Federal District Court to theft and bank larceny charges. But the Government proceeded with its prosecution of the Cuban-born Bosque on an additional charge of using force in the. robbery, on August 15, 1980.

Acting on a tip from Bosque's homosexual lover, lawmen arrested him at a San Francisco supermarket in November after an all-out, world-wide manhunt by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

He reportedly returned to the United States late last year, lonely and depressed after having spent nearly all the money on lavish flats and cars on two continents during his flight.
