Hijacker foiled
An attempted hijacking of an airliner to Cuba was averted when a passenger and crew members subdued a man armed with a bottle of liquid who was yelling: “Cuba, Cuba, Cuba!” Passengers said the captain deliberately flew south to the Florida Keys to confuse the would-be hijacker, then circled back to Miami International Airport to land. Passengers said that the man, a Latin male, announced about 45 minutes out of Miami that he wanted to go 'to Cuba because his mother had died the day before. They said he was carrying a liquid-filled bottle and threatened to light it. — Miami.
