N.S.W. trainer has fancied runners

NZPA Perth Doubts about Popular Alm, coupled with the scratching on Monday of a former equal favourite, Gammalite, have put the New South Wales trainer, Brian Hancock, in an enviable position for the Inter-Dominion series which starts tomorrow evening. His star pacer, Jikk Adios, has been installed as 4 to 1 favourite by Perth bookmakers, despite a poor draw in his first qualifying heat tomorrow evening. Another Hancock horse, Out for Glory, is well fancied at 5 to 1 and Willadios is third favourite at sevens. Mr Hancock said the three had arrived in Perth in fine shape and had settled in well. The surprise of the betting so far is a West Australian horse, Pride of Kentucky, which shortened from 250 to 1 to 16 to 1 last. Friday evening and was at tens yesterday. Latest market for the $160,000 final on March 19 are: 4 Jikk Adios; 5 Out For Glory; 7 Willadios; 10 Popular Alm, Pride of Kentucky, Garry John, Pure Steel, Lord Pancho; 12 Doubter; 16 Rhett’s Law, Young Symbol; 20 Winning Blow, Hochenheim, Skiptar; 25 Lehigh Lad, Indian Chant, Via Vista, Ardstraw, Christmas Adios; 33 Society Guy, Sharach, Yo Yo Time; 50 Neeron Boy, Burrows, Classic Prince.
