More pupils from Malaysia
PA Wellington New Zealand secondary schools will accept up to another 25 senior Malaysian pupils. The Minister of Education (Mr Wellington) who has just returned from a 12-day visit to the Asean region, said he had told his Malaysian counterpart that under existing policy}! there was room for
another 25. The scheme, which began with 25 sixth and seventhform pupils coming to New Zealand last year, has seen another 50 arrive this year. Their expenses are all met by the. Malaysian Government. Mr Wellington said the pupils would later go to university in New Zealand, specialising in English.
