Four O.A.U. members for Games
NZPA Brisbane Four black African Commonwealth nations have already accepted invitations to attend the Brisbane Games this year. < A Commonwealth Games Foundation spokesman said last evening that definite acceptances have been received from Uganda, Kenya, Zimbabwe, and the Seychelles. Another, Malawi, had accepted the invitation in principle. The five are among the 15 Organisation of African Unity states now threatening to boycott the.. Brisbane Games in protest against New Zealand’s sporting links with South Africa whose apartheid policies have brought world wide condemnation: 7/. '7. The. The spokesman said . the full list of definite acceptors were: Australia, Canada, Cyprus, England, Senegambia, Guernsey, Guyana, Hong Kong, India, Jersey, Malaysia, Isle, of Man, New Zealand, Northern Ireland, Papua New Guinea, Scotland, Trinadad and Tobago, Wales, Uganda, Kenya, Zimbabwe, and the Seychelles. Malawi, the Cook Islands, and Malta had indicated they would probably accept while Barbados and Bermuda had accepted provisionally, but were waiting for the New Zealand situation to clarify.
